Charkin Maritime Safety Centre (CMSC) is a private sector-initiative Maritime Safety

Training Establishment approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria and having

 its premises on the campus of Rivers State University of Science and Technology,

Port Harcourt.  The Centre has been affiliated to the Regional Maritime University, (RMU) Accra, Ghana for several years. The RMU is a branch of the World Maritime University,

Malmoe, CMSC is also affiliated to Poseidon Training Centre, Lekness Norway. The Centre has recently become business partner to three International Maritime Companies: Fred Olsen Production West Africa Ltd., Eidesvik As and Poseidon As Norway.
